Roots of Bharath
Launch Gotra tracing tools and interactive maps of ancient India
There’s a quiet rhythm in the soil of India. If you pause and listen, you’ll hear it: the echo of chants in ancient forests, the clang of temple bells across sunlit courtyards, the tales of gods and kings passed from one generation to the next. It is in this rhythm that Roots of Bharath finds its purpose.
We are not a media company. We are not a history portal. We are a growing family of seekers, storytellers, and wanderers—bound by a shared desire to understand where we come from, and what makes us who we are.
What We Explore
Host webinars with temple historians, Vedic scholars, and cultural voices
Modern life rarely leaves room for the sacred. Cities rise, wires tighten, and screens multiply, but something timeless within us still longs for meaning—something deeper than trends and hashtags.
Roots of Bharath is our answer to that longing.
We began with a simple question: What are the stories we’ve forgotten? What do we know about the Gotras that trace our bloodlines? About the dynasties whose rule still shapes our regions? About the temples that rise from mountain and jungle, not just as buildings but as living forces?
The more we explored, the more we understood. Our heritage is not in the past. It’s alive. And we wanted to bring it to light again.
Heritage answers that question
This isn’t nostalgia. This is about identity.
Many young Indians today know more about foreign cultures than their own. Ask them about dharma, or yajna, or their own Gotra—and there’s silence. But ask them who they are—and they hesitate. Heritage answers that question.
Knowing where you come from gives you a sense of anchor, responsibility, and strength. It isn’t about looking back—it’s about standing tall in the present, and walking forward with clarity.
Why This Matters
This isn’t nostalgia. This is about identity. Many young Indians today know more about foreign cultures than their own. Ask them about dharma, or yajna, or their own Gotra—and there’s silence. But ask them who they are—and they hesitate. Heritage answers that question.
Who We Are
We’re not funded by institutions or corporations. We are a group of writers, researchers, temple priests, scholars, students, and regular Indians. Some of us grew up listening to Puranic stories under mango trees. Others found their way to India’s roots after years abroad. We’re scattered across the country—from Tamil Nadu to Kashmir, from the ghats of Banaras to the hills of Assam. But we’re united by this one idea: Bharat’s story needs to be told right—honestly, deeply, and beautifully.
What We Believe
We believe India is more than a country. It is a civilizational force, built not by conquest but by culture. We believe the temples of India are not dead stones but spaces where cosmic energy still breathes. We believe Vedic knowledge and modern science are not enemies—they are two eyes of the same being. We believe that Indian mythology and history are not separate—they are woven together like warp and weft.
